The Independent Living Program [ILP] is a federally funded program that provides services to assist eligible youth and young adults up to age 21 in making a successful transition from foster care to independent living. The Independent Living Program (ILP) helps youth who are, or were, in foster care to become self-sufficient adults. Nationwide, there is a growing network of housing and service programs that are employing promising strategies to reach, engage, support, and house unaccompanied youth.
